Joker Movie Review

People often say that comic book movies are kiddish, too unrealistic and not for adults. Well, my friend, if you are one of them who had such an opinion, I have the movie just for you, and that is Joker. Joker isn't your typical drama that unfolds exactly as you would expect. This is a movie that has some truly phenomenal acting, a very personal and interesting story about a character whose origins we know very little about, and excellent screenplay and direction. (Source: IMDb  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7286456/ ) What makes this movie great is that you never know what to expect next. You are really engrossed and your eyes glued to the screen, thanks to some good cinematography, and mesmerizing BGM (thanks to Hildur Guðnadóttir, who has previously done Chernobyl (2019) and Arrival (2016), so you know where she's coming from), and great directing overall. Each and every scene felt raw, original, intriguing and unique. Every single scene and every aspect of th...

Chernobyl HBO Mini-series Review

"What is the cost of lies?". HBO's Chernobyl portrays the answer to a seemingly simple question in a hard-hitting, impactful way. We now live in a time where people spend all the time, effort and resources to recreate real-life events to perfection, to transport you, the viewer to such locations, and make you feel like you are actually there. You feel as if you stood on that bridge at Pripyat, witnessed first-hand the nuclear reactor exploding, and then became the unfortunate victim of what was a catastrophic man-made disaster. So what makes this show undeniably good? Does it deserve the 9.6 rating it currently has on IMDb? Well, let's find out! One of Chernobyl's strongest plus points is that it stayed very close to reality. They say that reality is the scariest form of horror, and this show was able to show you how horrifying radiation poisoning get, how costly can inefficiency and lies be. This was achieved through excellent storytelling, screenplay...

Avengers: Endgame Movie Review

The most awaited movie of all time is here. We are literally in the Endgame now, and oh what a journey has it been these 10 years! The level of expectations and hype for this movie was so high, that even the slightest bit of goof-up by the directors (the Russo brothers) could have caused major disappointment amongst fans and audience in general. Hell, I even wore an Avengers t-shirt to go watch this movie, something which I would never have imagined doing before! Thank God this movie did not let me down. This was one of, if not, probably the best Marvel movie I have ever seen so far! Acknowledging the marketing team of this movie for their fantastic job by revealing in the trailers what might have only been the first 15-20 minutes or so (which made the rest of the movie a pleasant surprise not knowing what to expect), I will try to review without giving away any spoilers, even from the previous films. So, this will be a NO SPOILER review... Let's dive in, shall we? (...
