Spiderman : Homecoming Movie Review

Guess what? This review has NO SPOILERS. Did you read that!? NO SPOILERS. So everyone can read without any problems! Yayyy! :)

Spiderman Homecoming is Marvel's (Disney) attempt at the character of "Spiderman", that has already been done twice so far. It shows the events in Peter Parker's life after the events in Captain America : Civil War (so yeah you have to watch that before this), on how he manages his school life and being the "friendly neighbourhood Spiderman". Thankfully, it stands out as a different Spiderman movie, and not the same old "With great power comes great responsibility" and Uncle Ben getting shot and stuff.

I feel the movie encapsulated the character of Spiderman quite well. It showed you that after all, Spider"man" was just a kid in a suit. He kept waiting for the call from the Avengers, but he was just a kid with no experience! He needed to prove he was worthy of an Avenger! He had to show that he was something without his suit. His growth as a character from a kid who was saving cats from trees to fighting this big bad called "The Vulture" was well done. All credits go to the actor Tom Holland for his acting as Spiderman. He really brought out the innocence and a fun character which is Peter/Spiderman. I didn't know who he was until now, but I will watch out for his movies in future!

Some good opportunities for humor arose, when they showed you things which weren't shown before in a Spiderman movie, such as What if Spiderman was out in the open? What if there were no buildings to swing around? Unlike some Marvel movies, the comedy wasn't too much and over-the-top. It was sufficient enough, to make it a fun, enjoyable movie experience.

Action scenes were good, but I guess the trailers pretty much showed you all of them :/. Most of it was in the dark, but I didn't have much of a problem with it. It was entertaining, and during those scenes, it provided you with the standard quips and jokes that Spiderman would do, as you would've seen in the previous Spiderman movies. Which is what Spiderman is truly all about.

Michael Keaton was great as The Vulture. I have only seen him in the "Birdman" movie, and I immediately started to respect/appreciate his acting. And he acts it out well here too! I did feel for him, as to why he got into this thing, and that he is just an average guy who wanted to live his normal life, and things got in the way for him. As to when he is in the suit as the Vulture, well, just a decent villain. That's all. At least not forgettable like most Marvel villains..
Robert Downey Jr., as always, fun to watch as Tony Stark / Iron Man. He played a good role as a mentor to Peter, and thankfully the focus was not on him and more on Peter Parker.

I didn't have any major problems with this movie though. The editing or umm.. transition from one scene to another... was a bit messy in some places. His friend Ned was a bit irritating at first, but was later Ok. The 2 girl characters in high school, didn't have much impact on the plot at all. Peter loved one of them and all, but it felt as if it was unnecessary, due to not having much impact on the story.

So yes in the end, Spiderman: Homecoming is a fun, enjoyable movie, like how most Marvel movies are. It is a completely different take on the character, and I do hope Marvel retains the rights completely to this character.

No. 1  Spiderman : Homecoming
No. 2  Sam Raimi's Spiderman {I have only seen 70% of these movies in bits and pieces, hence it wouldn't be fair to put it on top}
No. 3 Sony's Amazing Spiderman {Simply did not like this one}

Oh and the post credits scene, my God! Must watch it! Jeez Marvel! You got me.
